Fresh evidence: Notorious Nigerian kidnapper’s family also hold Ghanaian passports

Fresh evidence intercepted by Joy News shows that notorious Nigerian billionaire kidnapper did not only fraudulently secure a Ghanaian passport, but he also acquired one for the wife and two of his children.

Chukwudidumeme Onwuamadike alias Evans was issued with a Ghanaian passport this year under a fake name, Asare Nelson in Accra.

He was arrested on June 10 at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport while exiting Nigeria and the Ghanaian passport was found on him during a search.

Documents sighted by Joy News indicate that his wife and two children are also in possession of Ghanaian passports.

The Nigerian passport of his wife bears the name Uchenna Precious Onwuamadike issued at the Abuja passport headquarters.

Her Ghanaian passport bears the name Precious Asare born sometime in July of 1985. The children's passports also bear the last name Asare all issued in Accra.

The document signed by the Nigerian Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Abba Kyari said Mr Onwuamadike has moved his wife and five children to Ghana because of the nature of his business.

The kidnapper’s plush residence in Ghana is said to be located at the Spintex Road in Accra. The duplex structure is where Mrs Uchenna Precious Onwuamadike is said to reside with their children.

The 31-year-old woman in a telephone conversation with Nigeria’s Vanguard newspaper from Ghana said she was not aware her husband was into kidnapping business.

She said he told her he deals with spare parts and shipping business and his reason for moving them to Ghana was for the children to have a good education.

Based on this reason, she relocated with the children while her husband stayed behind to continue his trade.

Nigerian Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Kpotun Idris spoke to Joy News' Maxwell Agbagba about the details of the Ghanaian passports, locations of the plush buildings of Mr Onwuamadike as well as some collaboration with the Ghana IGP, David Asante Apeatu.

He said the Nigerian police is very interested in the case because of the criminal in question who kidnaps people and takes ransom in United States dollars. He also has properties across countries and has reputation for perpetuating notorious acts in the sub-region while his family is tucked away in Ghana.

He said he will collaborate with the Ghana Police Service because Evans’ acts go beyond the shores of his country Nigeria.

“I requested for my force in Nigeria to send me some documents to share with the IGP to show him the locations of all his properties in Ghana as well as copies of his passports,” he said.

The documents revealed that Evans owns two big plush duplexes in Accra.

He also disclosed that Mr Onuamadike used a fake Ghanaian name Nelson Asare to obtain the Ghanaian passport which bears his picture.

“I hope Ghanaian police can take the fraudulent acquisition of passport up to block people like him from acquiring Ghanaian passports through dubious means," he said.

Kidnapped for Ransom - Victims

According to the Nigerian IGP, the documents available to them so far revealed that Evans victims are all Nigerians.

Mr Kpotun Idris revealed that six of his victims were made to pay $1 million before they were set free adding that in 2015, Evans made a total of $6.2 million from his kidnapping business.

The Nigeria Intelligence Response Team said in late 2015, Mr Onwuamadike kidnapped one James Uji at 7th Avenue Festec Town in Lagos State and held him for six weeks after a ransom of $1.2 million had been paid.

He also kidnapped one Chief Raymond Okoye Odunaichida also in 2015 and took $1 million ransom before releasing him.

Uche Okurafor a trader in Alaba market in Ojo Lagos State also paid $1 million to get released after being kidnapped.

There are others whom Mr Onwuamadike kidnapped and charged in Naira including Mr Ojoku Cosmos a Nissa spare parts dealer who paid naira equivalent of $1 million.

Radio Biafra returns to air, announces the sack of Nnamdi Kanu as IPOB leader.

Radio Biafra returns to air, announces the sack of Nnamdi Kanu as IPOB leader.

The radio’s programme started with the lady announcer who gave her name as Ifeoma Okorafor, stating that the radio was back on air and IPOB was restructuring. She then announced that “Mazi Nnamdi Nwanekaenyi Kanu, the former Director of Radio Biafra is hereby dismissed and removed as Director of Radio Biafra following extensive and intensive consultations”.
She named “Mazi Ezenwachukwu Sampson Okwudili as Kanu’s replacement.”
Kanu has not been seen publicly since he fled Abia State after the military raided his family compound some months back.

The reasons the Radio Biafra announcer gave for Kanu’s removal included:

(A) Personalization of the Biafran struggle and derailing from the core objectives of IPOB as a grassroots movement.

(B) Kanu’s actions and his decisions to incite members of IPOB towards violence leading to the death of many innocent young people in Onitsha, Aba and Umuahia is totally unacceptable and grossly irresponsible.

(C) Kanu privately collected £14m and another $22m to purchase landed properties abroad in his name and that of his father Igwe Israel Kanu in a clear case of monkey dey work baboon dey chop.

(D) Kanu turned our collective struggle into a money-making enterprise for himself and his father. Thus the monies contributed by enterprising and hard-working Igbo youths across the world are being collected and converted by one man and his father while pretending to be sacrificing for the cause.

(E) Upon his release from detention in April 2017, one expected Kanu to drum up support for the release of his colleagues and co-detainees such as Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi. These are our brothers who were arrested at the same time with him and they should not be forgotten. We hereby demand their release. Kanu, since his release, has never spoken about them or appealed for the release of these our freedom fighters. Instead, he has been going about collecting chieftaincy titles and having a messianic swagger that even allowed full-blooded Igbomen to kneel down and kiss his feet.

(F) Kanu threw away the original meaning of our collective struggle for personal gain and vain glorification. IPOB believes in democracy as a solid base of any modern state, the rule of law, and will always reject violence in all its ramifications.

I don't want to be castrated." Veteran Actor Sadiq Daba down with prostate cancer, cries out

"I don’t want to be castrated"– Veteran actor Sadiq Daba, down with prostrate cancer, cries out.

Veteran actor, Sadiq Daba, is not having the best of times and enjoying the acclaim that a true veteran deserves.

Sadiq Daba has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. This is coming barely months after the actor was hospitalised for months due to leukemia.

Punch’s Sunday Scoop put a call through to him during the week to find out how he was doing. And here is what actor Sadiq said:

“Right now, I have a catheter inserted into my joystick to ease the movement of urine. I have been in and out of hospitals for a while now.
Next week, I also have to go for a biopsy to determine if I would need to do a major surgery. I have leukemia to battle with, then this prostate issue comes in. The pain is just too much for me.

“I have been receiving treatment at LASUTH and OAUTH and the doctors have been wonderful. I was told that one of the side effects of the surgery is that my testicles would have to be removed. That means I would be castrated and I don’t think I want that.
The other option is that I would have to take injections that would cost N150,000 every two months, and I have to take it for about two years. You can imagine what the total cost would be,” he added.
On whether members of the movie industry have been helpful to him, Daba said:

“A few of my colleagues have been wonderful; they have tried to help as much as they can. The DGs of NTA, Censors Board, and the president of PMAN have also been of help. I can’t start carrying bowls and be going all about the place begging for money.
I believe I have paid my dues. For those who know about my situation and want to help, they are welcome. Everything that I have to do is tied to money. There is no drug that is cheap.”

Nigerian Male Barbie Doll Bobrisky has been arrested

News broke on social media that Nigerian male barbie Bobrisky has been allegedly arrested in Lagos. The report said Bobrisky's arrest may be connected to the lingering fight between him and serial entrepreneur Toyin Lawani.

Now here's what Jozi360 knows so far. We put a call through to Toyin Lawani, her personal assistant who spoke to us said 'please she has nothing to do with that. You peoople should stop linking her to it'.

Another close associate to Toyin Lawani confirms her claim saying, 'Toyin won't stoop so low'.

We have also reached out to the Lagos State Poolice PRO, Famous Cole who said, 'I'm not aware of such arrest at the moment. Maybe he was invited for questioning or he went voluntarily to make a complaint'.

From the photos circulating, Bobrisky is without any footwear and he looks visibly distraught which clearly means he didn't go there voluntarily. He's also not reachable at the moment as his mobile phone is switched off.

A source however tells Jozi360 that Bobrisky's arrest may be connected to his social media post yesterday where he came out as 'GAY', a criminal offence with a 14-year jail term in Lagos State.

We'll keep digging and bring updates as soon as we have it.
